Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the best way to lose fat?

A common misconception is that people think losing fat is the result of heavy cardio. Cardio is great but its not the best way to lose fat and make your body look good. The best way to lose fat and make your body look amazing, is to actually focus on building muscle. When you build muscle, your body is going to need more calories throughout the day to go about its daily activities. When people resort to only cardio for fat loss, they often times get the "skinny fat" physique. That is when somebody does not have muscle on their frame and their arms look a little frail, and they also have a bit of a gut. That is not what we want. Instead, building muscle in the chest, back, shoulders, arms, and legs will cause you to burn more fat, leading to a way better and healthier looking physique. Your compound lifts are going to be your best friend. Squats, Deadlifts, Bench press, Overhead Press, Barbell rows, Pushups, Pull ups etc. When trying to lose fat your diet is the most important thing. You need to be eating lean meats for your protein source (White fish, Turkey, Chicken). And you also need good carbs (Fruits , Vegetables, Brown rice, Potatoes). Also hydration is very important.

2. How Long does it take to see results?

There is not a 100% correct answer to this question but i will confidently tell you that if you are in the gym working hard and eating healthy you will start to see progress anywhere from 6-8 weeks. remember that you see yourself in the mirror everyday so you may not notice the progress on yourself as much as other people will notice.

3. How many days a week should I workout?

4-6 days a week is a great amount. If you are a beginner then you should start with 4 days a week and eventually work your way up to 6. 6 days a week is the max that anybody should train. 1 rest day a week is very important.

4. Do genetics really play a role in fat loss, or muscle building?

The answer is yes they do. BUT...ANYBODY can achieve a great physique no matter what your genetics are. There are many stories of people who have "The fat gene" but who dedicate themselves to their diet and exercise habits and who eventually get into amazing shape. I know a man who was 435 pounds and who couldn't walk 15 yards down a hall who then dedicated himself to getting in shape, and after 18 months from starting, he ran a marathon at 180 pounds. Yes genetics matter but they are not a barrier no matter what your goals are. Some things may be harder for some people than others. But anybody can do anything.
